Indonesia-China Cooperation Strengthens as Bilateral Trade Reaches USD 135 Billion in 2024

In line with this, J&T Express, a global logistics provider, is committed to leveraging this potential, particularly in logistics and e-commerce, to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global market while supporting the growth of the national digital economy.

As part of this commitment, J&T Express recently held an industry visit and conference involving leading companies from China, supported by the China Apparel Logistics Association of the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP). The program aims to deepen strategic ties between Indonesia and China in logistics and e-commerce, while creating broader collaboration opportunities for both global and local businesses.

Iwan Senjaya, Commissioner of J&T Express, emphasized that J&T Express is committed to supporting the development of Indonesia’s economy and promoting its potential in the increasingly competitive global economic arena. The initiative is expected to help international companies strengthen their understanding of and access opportunities in the Indonesian market, driven by J&T Express' support through its evolving logistics infrastructure and innovation.

“Indonesia is increasingly recognized as a key market in Southeast Asia, with immense growth potential in logistics and e-commerce. With our experience and extensive network, we are ready to support Indonesia’s digital economy by enhancing national logistics solutions and fostering collaboration with global companies,” Iwan said.

In response, Shi Wei, Secretary-General of the China Apparel Logistics Association from CFLP, stated, “Indonesia’s growing market offers tremendous potential for growth in logistics and e-commerce. As these sectors develop in both countries, we see significant opportunities for continued collaboration and mutually beneficial partnerships for business expansion in Southeast Asia.”

For context, the China Apparel Logistics Association of CFLP was established on March 27, 2017, as a national industry organization with voluntary membership from companies in the footwear and fashion, beauty and personal care, bags and accessories, and home textiles sectors. The association also supports production, distribution, and e-commerce participants in these industries, focusing on strengthening the logistics ecosystem and supply chain for the lifestyle sector in China.

The program organized by J&T Express successfully brought several leading Chinese companies to Indonesia, including Mercury Home Textiles, Bosideng, Xtep, Lancy, and Urban Beauty. As part of the program, these companies visited J&T Express logistics facilities, from drop points to sorting centers, as well as other leading companies in Indonesia.
