J&T Express, one of Indonesia’s leading logistics companies, reported key findings from the first quarter of 2025, highlighting the regions with the highest shipment volumes and the most frequently shipped product categories. Amid rising demand for deliveries, especially during peak seasons like Ramadan, J&T Express successfully served high-activity shipping areas such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Bekasi, Medan, and Bandung throughout the first quarter.
“In the first quarter of 2025, we observed the highest shipment volumes in several regions, including Jakarta, Surabaya, Bekasi, Medan, and Bandung,” said Robin Lo, CEO of J&T Express. “The top shipment categories during this period were fashion, documents, beauty products, food & beverages, and gadgets.”
In the midst of the growing live shopping trend, one entrepreneur feeling the impact is Jesica Thamrin, owner of Jestham Official in Medan. Since actively selling via live shopping, the volume of product orders requiring shipment has surged. Jestham Official relies on J&T Express to fulfill fast and secure delivery needs.
“The Jestham market is dominated by customers all over Indonesia, many living in remote areas, some of which we had never heard of before. But J&T’s service is very helpful in reaching shipments across the entire country,” Jesica shared.
This surge in delivery demand brings challenges, especially in an archipelagic country like Indonesia. J&T Express continually strives to overcome these challenges by deploying fleets and couriers ready to serve deliveries even in harder-to-reach areas. One such courier is Julyan Rezky, who daily ensures deliveries in Sabang, the westernmost point of Indonesia.
“The terrain in Sabang is quite up and down; there’s only about 2 kilometers of flat road. On the right is the sea, on the left are hills. Almost every day, I pass the 0-kilometer marker,” Julyan explained.
Every morning, Julyan picks up packages at his Drop Point to deliver to respective addresses, traveling approximately 48 kilometers per trip daily.
Having served Indonesia for nearly a decade, J&T Express continues to expand its network and infrastructure to ensure fast and efficient delivery services. This includes over 4,000 drop points, 80 sorting centers, 27 automated sorting machines, more than 7,000 operational fleets, and over 90,000 operational team members and couriers on the frontline, ready to serve shipments across the country.
“Our success in achieving high shipment volumes in these regions proves our ongoing commitment to delivering the best service and contributing to the growth of Indonesia’s digital economy,” added Robin Lo.
