Sodikin, a Courier from Surabaya: From Losing His Motorcycle to Becoming Customers’ Trusted Pick-up Partner

Sodikin is one of the J&T Express sprinters who earned the 5-Star Courier recognition in May 2026. He has been part of J&T Express for nearly seven years as a sprinter. In his daily work, Sodikin is responsible for handling package pick-ups, delivering parcels to customers, and ensuring every shipment arrives safely at its destination.

Throughout his journey, Sodikin has faced various challenges in the field. From transporting large packages using a motorcycle to handling pick-ups located far from the drop point area, these situations have become part of his everyday responsibilities.

“In the past, handling regular packages was quite challenging because not many people were familiar with J&T Express yet. Sometimes there were only one or two packages, but I still picked them up even if the location was far away,” Sodikin recalled.

Through these daily routines, Sodikin gradually built customers’ trust. His friendly attitude and willingness to continue handling pick-ups despite the long distances made many customers feel comfortable relying on his service. Over time, many of them became regular pick-up customers who consistently used his service.

However, Sodikin’s journey was not always easy. One of the most memorable experiences for him was when he lost his motorcycle while picking up a customer’s package.

“I parked for a moment, and when I came back, the motorcycle was still there. But after continuing another pick-up and returning again, it was gone. I was shocked and confused,” he shared.

Although it was a difficult experience, the incident did not stop Sodikin from moving forward. Support from his family became one of the biggest reasons that kept him strong and motivated to continue working as usual.

For Sodikin, hard work does not always need to be expressed through big words. Instead, he believes it should be proven through real actions, consistency, and responsibility in providing the best service to customers despite the challenges he faces.

“For me, the important thing is to keep going and keep working. Being tired is okay, as long as we stay healthy,” he concluded.
