Jaja Kuswara Sutan, Riding Forward with Dreams

Behind the red helmet and uniform lies a story of hard work, sincerity, and dreams that quietly grew over time. His name is Jaja Kuswara Sutan, a delivery sprinter from Parungkuda, Sukabumi. Jaja joined J&T Express in mid-June 2019 starting out as a part-time courier in the Cibadak area. “At that time, I was unemployed. I often saw couriers delivering packages to my house, so I asked if there were any openings. Luckily, they needed extra hands during the high season,” he recalled. Five years later, Jaja has become one of the most trusted sprinters in his area. The journey hasn’t been easy, he’s dealt with challenges from failed COD deliveries to empty homes, the struggle of interacting with people during the pandemic, and even navigating dangerous routes in Palasari when trees blocked the road. Yet, none of these hurdles ever stopped him.“I’m proud to work at J&T. Some people may look down on couriers, but I have my own principle, what matters most is earning an honest living and providing for my family,” he said firmly. His persistence has paid off. Bit by bit, Jaja has turned his dreams into reality: owning a house and a new motorcycle, all from his own hard work. “From the start, I wanted to have my own home, not keep relying on my parents. I even finished paying off my bank loan. Slowly but surely, everything’s falling into place,” he said with a proud smile. But Jaja’s life isn’t all about delivering packages. In his spare time, he plays music with his band Saksama, where he serves as the bassist. “Yes, ma’am, I’ve loved playing music since my school days,” he said with a laugh. Saksama performs at various events, corporate gatherings, weddings, school farewells, Independence Day celebrations, and even at local cafés around Sukabumi. For Jaja, music is a way to unwind after long hours on the road.“When I’m playing music, I just feel happy. The fatigue from work disappears. And when I see people singing along or clapping, it gives me new energy to get back to work the next day.” “For me, work must come from sincerity. It’s okay to feel tired or frustrated, but don’t vent it on social media. It’s better to stay positive and keep your focus,” he advised fellow couriers. After six years with J&T Express, Jaja has proven that loyalty and determination can truly create change.“If I stay through the tough times, then when J&T succeeds, I’ll grow along with it,” he concluded.
