Rahmatullah: Always Moving Forward, No Matter What

For Rahmatullah, the workday starts early. By around 7 AM, he’s already on the road as a sprinter at DP Jenggawah, Jember—a routine he’s been following since 2025.

This opportunity came unexpectedly. Rahmatullah, or Rahmat as he’s often called, once asked a colleague whether J&T Express had openings for people with disabilities. Not long after, he got a response and was asked to start that same week, on a Wednesday. Without much hesitation, he took the opportunity.

Of course, the job comes with its challenges. One of the most common is dealing with his motorbike. Since it’s specially modified to support his mobility, handling it when it breaks down isn’t always easy. Still, Rahmat always finds a way to keep his deliveries running smoothly.

What makes a difference, he says, is the supportive work environment. The sense of teamwork and willingness to help one another really stand out. At times, his colleagues also step in to help lift the delivery bags onto his motorbike.

At the beginning, Rahmat was worried he wouldn’t be able to keep up with the SLA targets. But over time, he adapted. Now, he’s used to the pace and consistently meets expectations.

Outside of work, Rahmatullah is also a football athlete with several achievements. The discipline he’s built through sports carries over into how he approaches his job today.

On the field, he meets all kinds of customers. COD orders, in particular, can be challenging—common reasons range from accidental orders made by children to wrong purchases or sudden changes of mind. Even so, Rahmat always does his best to provide good service. For him, this is a service job, and trust matters.

For Rahmatullah, this job is more than just delivering packages. It’s about responsibility and consistency. Staying focused on customers and working efficiently are principles he holds onto every day.

His message to fellow sprinters is simple: stay motivated, and don’t let your circumstances hold you back.

Eko Tri Nugroho: From Sprinter to Manager

Eko Tri Nugroho is the Quality Control & Call Center Manager at J&T Express Yogyakarta Branch. He is responsible for ensuring that operational processes run according to standards and that service quality is consistently maintained. His scope of work includes monitoring drop point performance, overseeing service quality, handling customer complaints, and coaching the Quality Control and Call Center teams.

Eko joined J&T Express in 2015, during the company’s early days of operation. He began his career as a sprinter, delivering packages directly to customers. Over time, Eko was entrusted with various roles—from marketing to IT—before eventually being appointed to lead the Quality Control & Call Center division.

“At that time, it felt like building something from scratch. I had to explain J&T Express to customers one by one. But that’s where the sense of pride grew, because I became part of J&T Express’ journey to becoming what it is today,” Eko recalled.

Becoming a manager was not easy for Eko. The role came with far greater responsibilities compared to when he was still a staff member.

“Back then, I focused on completing my own tasks. Now, I have to make sure the entire team moves forward together. One of the most memorable moments was leading my first large briefing—I was very nervous, but also proud,” he shared.

The long journey from sprinter to manager was not without challenges. Eko admitted there were moments when he almost gave up. However, support from his family, colleagues, and his belief in continuing to move forward helped him persevere.

“The process was long and not instant. Work pressure and dynamics once made me want to quit. But I chose to stay, because I believe J&T Express is not just a place to work—it’s a place where I grow,” he concluded.

Elza Tri Fajar Sela: The person who manages package delivery routes

Behind every package that reaches a customer’s hands, there is a long journey shaped by many people and teams. One of them is the Planning team — the division responsible for determining the most efficient routes so every package arrives safely at its destination. Among the people behind this process is Elza Tri Fajar Sela, a Planning staff member who helps direct how thousands of packages move every day.

As part of the Planning team, Elza handles shipment data analysis, Service Level Agreement (SLA) planning, and determining the best routes based on transportation mode, distance, time, cost, and road conditions. She also coordinates closely with the operations team to ensure that the planned routes run smoothly, without delays or misdeliveries.

Although many people may not be aware of her role, Elza takes great pride in her work. For her, being part of the Planning team means contributing to the experience of thousands of customers waiting for their packages to arrive.

“The moment that made me the proudest was when our team redesigned an intercity delivery route that often arrived late. After optimizing the route, delivery times became much faster, and many customers mentioned that their packages arrived sooner,” she shared.

Even though Elza has only been with J&T Express for three years, she feels it is a decision she never regrets. To her, every package carries its own journey and story. It’s not just about moving items from one place to another, it’s about responsibility and trust.

“J&T Express has given me space to grow. The work culture here is supportive and collaborative. It’s disciplined, yet warm. Every day, I feel that what I do creates real impact, not only for the company but also for myself and the people around me,” she added.

Like many office workers, Elza also strives to maintain a healthy work-life balance by making time for the hobbies she loves. For her, finding personal time is essential to keeping both her physical and mental well-being in check, which in turn helps her stay productive at work.

“Outside of work, I usually create simple TikTok content because I really enjoy exploring new places or restaurants. In my free time or after work, I often do light workouts with my friends,” she said.

Jaja Kuswara Sutan, Riding Forward with Dreams

Behind the red helmet and uniform lies a story of hard work, sincerity, and dreams that quietly grew over time. His name is Jaja Kuswara Sutan, a delivery sprinter from Parungkuda, Sukabumi. Jaja joined J&T Express in mid-June 2019 starting out as a part-time courier in the Cibadak area. “At that time, I was unemployed. I often saw couriers delivering packages to my house, so I asked if there were any openings. Luckily, they needed extra hands during the high season,” he recalled. Five years later, Jaja has become one of the most trusted sprinters in his area. The journey hasn’t been easy, he’s dealt with challenges from failed COD deliveries to empty homes, the struggle of interacting with people during the pandemic, and even navigating dangerous routes in Palasari when trees blocked the road. Yet, none of these hurdles ever stopped him.“I’m proud to work at J&T. Some people may look down on couriers, but I have my own principle, what matters most is earning an honest living and providing for my family,” he said firmly. His persistence has paid off. Bit by bit, Jaja has turned his dreams into reality: owning a house and a new motorcycle, all from his own hard work. “From the start, I wanted to have my own home, not keep relying on my parents. I even finished paying off my bank loan. Slowly but surely, everything’s falling into place,” he said with a proud smile. But Jaja’s life isn’t all about delivering packages. In his spare time, he plays music with his band Saksama, where he serves as the bassist. “Yes, ma’am, I’ve loved playing music since my school days,” he said with a laugh. Saksama performs at various events, corporate gatherings, weddings, school farewells, Independence Day celebrations, and even at local cafés around Sukabumi. For Jaja, music is a way to unwind after long hours on the road.“When I’m playing music, I just feel happy. The fatigue from work disappears. And when I see people singing along or clapping, it gives me new energy to get back to work the next day.” “For me, work must come from sincerity. It’s okay to feel tired or frustrated, but don’t vent it on social media. It’s better to stay positive and keep your focus,” he advised fellow couriers. After six years with J&T Express, Jaja has proven that loyalty and determination can truly create change.“If I stay through the tough times, then when J&T succeeds, I’ll grow along with it,” he concluded.

A “Package” for Muntaha, J&T Courier Who Flew to Vietnam

Muhammad Muntaha, a J&T Express courier from Pandeglang, Banten, received a special “package” he never expected: a trip to Vietnam and a motorcycle as a reward for his dedication and hard work over 9 years at J&T.

Every day, Muntaha starts his routine with enthusiasm. He leaves home around 6:30 a.m. and arrives at the office before 7 a.m. Together with his team, they sort packages by area, scan deliveries, and plan routes. By 8 to 8:30 a.m., Muntaha begins his first delivery round, usually finishing around 12:30 to 1 p.m. After a short break and picking up packages for the second round, he continues delivering until late afternoon or evening, depending on the situation.

At first, Muntaha never thought he would become a J&T courier since he was a migrant unfamiliar with many areas in Pandeglang. But with determination and effort, he memorized routes and provided excellent service.

What keeps Muntaha loyal to J&T is his dream to improve his living standards and a comfortable work environment. His work principles are honesty, following SOPs strictly, and never mishandling COD money. His family, especially his wife and daughter, is his biggest motivation.

J&T Express deeply cares about the welfare of its couriers. The rewards Muntaha received — a trip to Vietnam and a new motorcycle — show how much the company values the dedication and hard work of couriers who are the frontline of customer service.

Muntaha was also selected as the best sprinter in an evaluation that amazed him.

He hopes J&T Express continues to grow and become the best logistics company in Indonesia.

Devi, Not Just "Teaching," but Also Continuously "Learning"

Like any other company, every employee at J&T Express has participated in training programs. Behind every training system provided by the company, there is a dedicated team working tirelessly to deliver the best training for the growth of its employees. One of these key contributors is Devi Oktavianti, Coordinator of Talent Development, who has been contributing for nearly two years to enhance the skills and knowledge of J&T Express employees.

As a Human Resources Development planner, Devi carries a significant amount of responsibility. From developing training management policies, creating training curricula, to ensuring that J&T Express trainers across Indonesia—from Sabang to Merauke—are always performing at their best. Whether it's new hires or seasoned employees, everyone is guaranteed equal opportunities for skill development.

The challenges in her role are no small feat. Devi had to build the training system from scratch. Moreover, with 26 regions, each with different workforce conditions and needs, the task becomes even more complex. "The challenge is that we have to create standardized training programs despite the varying workforce conditions and geographical challenges," Devi explained.

Yet, it is precisely these challenges that fuel her motivation! For her, working in Talent Development not only allows her to continuously learn new things and gain knowledge but also enables her to meet people with diverse characters and backgrounds, broadening her perspective on various field realities.

One of Devi's most memorable experiences was during a work trip to Nusa Penida, where she suffered severe seasickness. "That was definitely a memorable experience. From worrying about whether we'd make it safely to dealing with seasickness, I went through it all. Plus, the boat engine stalled three times!" she shared. Despite the ordeal, the experience deepened her appreciation for the efforts of trainers in remote areas who work hard to educate local employees.

Outside of work, Devi is also active in non-profit organizations and participates in regular sports programs. Her passion for her job stems from her love for Talent Development. For her, nothing is more fulfilling than seeing employees grow and develop better skills for their future.

Behind the scenes, Devi and the Talent Development team work tirelessly to ensure that every J&T Express employee receives the best training. So, if you feel more prepared and skilled in your work, know that Devi and her team have played a significant role in making that happen!

Pak Doly: A Key Figure Behind J&T Express’s Uninterrupted Service During Holidays

While most people enjoy long holidays with their families, there are individuals who work tirelessly to keep operations running smoothly. One of them is Pak Doly, a dedicated Gateway Processing Staff member. With unwavering commitment, he oversees daily operations, particularly in the sorting division, ensuring that packages are delivered without disruption, even during national holidays.

As a leader in processing, Pak Doly bears significant responsibilities. He manages manpower to ensure seamless sorting and scanning of packages. His duties include organizing packages by destination, addressing items that fail to enter the system due to damaged barcodes, and manually sorting parcels that cannot be processed by automated systems. “There’s always a package issue every day, and we have to handle them one by one to make sure nothing gets stuck,” he explained.

Pak Doly has been part of J&T Express for five years. Starting as a regular processing staff member, he earned his promotion to leader through hard work and dedication. His journey began with a job referral from a friend. Despite being turned down initially due to a full quota, he persevered and was eventually accepted three months later.

His dedication shines during critical moments, such as peak season. He recalls one memorable instance when he had to work 12-hour shifts for two consecutive days due to an overwhelming influx of packages, compounded by flooding in Jakarta. “I was supposed to finish at 9 PM, but ended up working until midnight because of the overload. It was exhausting, but we all worked together to ensure the packages reached our customers,” he reminisced.

For Pak Doly, the greatest challenge in his role is managing manpower—not just in terms of numbers but also in harmonizing the diverse personalities of his team members. With experience and the right approach, he has successfully maintained smooth operations even in challenging situations.

When asked about his hopes and motivations, Pak Doly expressed his wish for J&T Express to continue thriving and for employees to enjoy better welfare. “I hope we can all stay loyal and happy here,” he concluded.

Pak Doly exemplifies relentless dedication behind the scenes at J&T Express. While many of us enjoy the comforts of a long holiday, there are people like him working hard to ensure that packages are delivered on time.
